Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk are married! Unlike many of their Hollywood contemporaries, they opted for a small and intimate wedding for their closest friends and family. The happy couple found love at nearly 50, and although they couldn’t quite constitute senior singles, Paltrow and Falchuk are definitely proof that love can strike at any age.
A Dream Hamptons Wedding
According to a source that spoke to ET, the 46-year-old actress and the 47-year-old television producer tied the knot in the Hamptons last Saturday, and shared their big news with the world by posting a photo on Instagram of the two touching hands, wearing matching wedding bands. There are still no official photos released from the wedding, but sources confirm that the bride looked breathtaking in a custom-designed wedding gown.
Apparently, the bride had wedding jitters on the big day. “She seemed so relaxed at her rehearsal dinner but seemed slightly nervous right before she walked down the aisle, but her mom gave her loving encouragement,” the source told ET. “Gwyneth has wanted this for a very long time. You could tell this meant the world to her.”
Sources also confirm that the mother of the bride shed happy tears during the ceremony. Apparently, she was emotional and excited for her daughter and new son-in-law Brad. After the vows were exchanged, Gwyneth loosened up and had a good time with her guests.
“After the ‘I dos,’ Gwyneth was elated and danced throughout the evening,” the source shared. “The atmosphere was incredibly romantic. The flowers were beautifully arranged on the tables with crystal wine glasses and candles. It was a very Hamptons, outdoorsy feel. The weather was glorious so it truly was a perfect scene.”
Another source shared with ET that Paltrow spent a good portion of last year remodeling her Hamptons home, especially the outdoor space, in preparation for the wedding. The Hamptons is one of her favorite places on earth, and she also worked incredibly hard to keep the wedding a secret.
Famous Guests and Exes
As expected, this wedding was a star-studded event with Robert Downey Jr., Jerry Seinfeld, Rob Lowe, and Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden in attendance.
Back in January, Paltrow told ET she wanted to keep the wedding simple. She kept her first ceremony simple and under wraps as well, having eloped with ex-husband Chris Martin in 2003. They split up in 2014, and share custody of their two children, 14-year-old Apple, and 12-year-old Moses.
At the 2018 Goop Health Summit in New York City, the actress said, “I think I’m [too] old to have a big wedding and a big ole white dress and all that. I gotta dial it back.”
In April, she called her relationship with Falchuk her first “adult relationship”. “In the past, I’ve been in relationships with men who had intimacy issues, so I could be, like, ‘I’m fine, I’m ready to do this,’ and let myself think he’s the one with the problem,” she told the Sunday Times. “In a way, some of the relationships were designed to keep me out of intimacy.”
Aside from Chris Martin, Paltrow’s famous exes include Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck.
